7th annual Marfa open arts festival
We’re currently finalizing the festival dates as well as beginning to sort therough the submissions we’ve received so far.
A 3-week-long artist-run and curated immersive arts festival based in Marfa, TX. Now in our 6th festival year, this year’s rotating program emphasizes cross-media collaboration between artists and experimentation in media or process. With work from over 25 artists, this year’s lineup includes live performances, art exhibitions, outdoor film screenings, live musical performances, dance, and installations.
Events, shows, and the like will take place in 2 main locations this year:
Marfa Open Arts - 102 s. plateau st. Marfa, TX
Our main gallery and event space (and Festival HQ), Marfa Open Arts is a nonprofit gallery and community-driven art space in the historic former quartermaster’s train depot. Year-round the space hosts a variety of events, exhibitions, and live shows, and provides living quarters and facilities for our MO Artist in Residence program (MO AiR).
Building 98 - 705 W. Bonnie St. Marfa, TX
Our auxiliary gallery and festival event space - Building 98 at Fort D.A. Russell, a historic US army base, turned art gallery and artist residency program. The former military base is a renovation project of The International Woman's Foundation and is home to the WWII German POW murals.
