About:

My Company Consumes Me is a performance prayer to The Caretaker’s "Everywhere at the End of Time".

During the nation-wide lockdown divinebrick (josie j) first heard the Caretaker's six hour work that explores the declining mental state of a patient with dementia.  There are many that say listening to The Caretaker's work straight through is a challenge in mental stability. To josie j listening to the work inspired a vision of the many people struggling with the opportunity to look within.  To look at the many memories we may never experience due to this new “normalcy”.  The experience of listening to "Everywhere at the End of Time" also reminded josie of the collective memory loss we are all experiencing. As we lose elders, land, traditions with meaning we lose connection to the past.  At this time when we need guidance from past mistakes we are losing connection.  In ways the pandemic is an attack on our past, our collective memory, it is an attack on the memories that make us who we are.

In this performance prayer artist's Chris Soohoo and josie j explore the good and bad memories we are at risk of losing.  Putting us at risk of manifesting a questionable world.
