Hannah Medina is an artist and designer currently based in Austin, Texas. Her main areas of focus include graphic design, branding and visual identities, spatial design, sculpture, and painting. She currently works as a designer at Land for HAOMA. Previously, she spent time in Marfa conducting research on cultural assimilation and migration in the borderlands.

Her work conjures inspiration from many places, including memory and consciousness, natural landscapes and materials, land art, and folk art. Her holistic and cross-disciplinary approach to art and design is also deeply influenced by her Chicanx heritage, responding to her past, present, and future at once, and attempting to feel both grounding and ethereal in the same breath.

For Marfa Open, she will be creating a sculptural installation and compositional study based on a previous piece, Ephemeral Composition No. 1, exploring themes of memory, sentimentality, and the unseen.
